I am seeing everyone's proudly wearing their Oracle Open World conference badges. Why is it so?
It is purposely there for obvious security reason, but also because showing your badge in and around Moscone Center is going to get you various discounts in shopping malls, restaurants, museums and transportation in the city!
By bringing in increased sales volumes, this has to be one of the wicked ways Oracle can make it up for the potential financial loss of cordoning off the roads (yes, not 1 but 2 main roads) for 1 week, 1 city, 3 conferences.
If only I have time to shop, I would do due diligence to contribute to this!
