Standard Chartered bank has launched their service pledge Asia-wide, committed to providing counter service within 8 minutes from the moment you walked into their branch. If they can't deliver, a dollar will be donated to a charity organisation.A refreshing marketing campaign nonetheless, but it is a rather tacky way of saying that ‘we have improved our customer service level and efficiency’.
I can imagine their customers who are lining up to be staring down at their watches from time to time. That was exactly what I did and just when I was about to take note of a broken pledge, I was served at the 7th minute!
