Standing Still

I found during a time of shock or pain or grief, it's often difficult to concentrate on anything for any length of time.

If you’ve ever googled cancer poems, you should have come across this:

What Cancer Can Not Do
by Anonymous

Cancer is so limited…
It cannot cripple love
It cannot shatter hope
It cannot corrode faith
It cannot destroy peace
It cannot kill friendship(s)
It cannot suppress memories
It cannot silence courage
It cannot invade the soul
It cannot steal eternal life
It cannot conquer the spirit.

To me, there's some truth in it, but it really depends on which state you are in. If you are a newcomer when your world is at a stand-still, telling you all these would be a load of crap and you'd think it's absolute bullshit when you are still comprehending what just happened.

May be down the line, after some denials, some acceptance and some actual battleships, these so called chicken-soup for the soul will begin to sink in a little.

To B&B,

I came to know that depths of grief which bereavement brings. But I also learnt that faith and hope and that it is possible to come out safely on the other side, changed but also strengthened.
I wish you all well.

Auntie Audrey
